Ghost of Yōtei is an action-adventure game developed exclusively for PlayStation 5. It is a standalone follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima, set about 300 years later in 1603, during the early Edo period. The game takes place in Ezo, known today as Hokkaidō, a harsh northern land filled with snow-covered forests, sacred mountains, and volatile weather.
You play as Atsu, a wandering mercenary whose life was shattered when a group of outlaws called the “Yōtei Six” destroyed her family and home. Driven by vengeance, she embarks on a dangerous journey across this unforgiving land, tracking each member of the Six in whichever order the player chooses.
The game blends cinematic storytelling, brutal melee and ranged combat, stealth, and exploration. It also introduces cultural and spiritual elements inspired by Japanese folklore. Players can engage in side activities like hot springs, painting, cooking, and building campsites, all of which add depth to the immersive open world.
